Why do my cat & rabbit twitch in sleep? Is cat back twitching normal?

As long as the twitching is mild and it is not waking Bugsy up from sleep then I would not be too concerned about it. Gentle twitches can occur during relaxation or even during sleep. As long as Mila is otherwise eating, drinking, and acting normally, there is likely no reason for concern. This is completely normal. I would recommend bringing in a fecal sample in to the veterinarian so that the most appropriate deworming medication can be prescribed. Some cats can twitch their backs if their fur is overly sensitive to sensation. Most cats twitch their backs due to fleas so I recommend to treat her for fleas and use a good product such as Cheristan or Revolution. If the twitching stops, then you know it was fleas. Worms don't generally cause back twitching but they can cause GI upset if the numbers are high enough. Also, if she is not spayed yet, you need to get that done ASAP as cats will start cycling as early as 6 months old. I hope this is helpful and please post any additional questions.

Hello and welcome to Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. Twitching in bunnies is usually either due to pain, or can be due to seizures, or severe metabolic disturbances. I recommend that you take Bun Bun to a vet. It doesn't sound like something simple that can be easily fixed at home. One option is to get "Critical Care" food, and feed this with a syringe, however this won't help with pain, toxins, or seizures. Best of luck with Bun Bun.

If Willow twitches only when she sleeps, she is having a lot of wild dreams. Thiis is nothing to worry about. It is also a sign that she is feeling very safe, so she can sleep very deep. She is likely having great adventures in her sleep, catching mice and playing. No worries!

I wouldn't describe baby kittens as twitching. They may be a little jerky as they are learning to walk or practicing other fine motor skills. Maybe try reposting with what exact behavior you are seeing. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.
