Is cantaloupe safe for cats to eat? What do vets say about it?

Cats are obligate carnivores, so they really don't have any need for fruits or vegetables as part of their normal diet. You could certainly offer small amounts of potatoes, carrots, or green beans as a treat if you wish - but don't be surprised if Sam doesn't have much interest in these things. Most cats far prefer meat or fish as a treat :)

Bananas are not harmful to cats. Some cats have a sweet tooth and like certain fruits. My cats love cantalope. As long as you limit how much Lulu gets (to avoid any possible GI upset), bananas shouldn't cause any problem. I hope that was helpful. Make sure that he doesn't get to eat the silk part of the corn as it can cause blockage of his intestines. As long as most of his diet consists of a well-balanced cat food, a small amount of corn every now and then is OK and will not harm him. I hope this is helpful!

Almond milk isn’t toxic, and a small amount would be okay occasionally. Some cats have sensitive stomachs and anything outside of their normal food can cause diarrhea. I also wouldn’t recommend giving any milk with sugar or other sweeteners.

Cinnamon should not harm your cat if ingested in small amounts but it is not a necessary part of a balanced diet. I would avoid giving her any cinnamon if you can. If she does happen to ingest a large amount you should call your veterinarian.

The fruit of a cherry is considered safe for cats, but the cherry's leaves and roots are not so she should be ok. Monitor for abnormal signs, like vomiting, diarrhea, and lethargy and have her examined by a vet if you notice anything.

Cats should eat a balanced high quality diet in order to meet all of their nutritional needs. Unbalanced diets with vitamin/mineral imbalances risk a variety of health problems. Home cooked diets are not as commonly recommended, but are preferred by some cats and pet owners. If you opt to go down this road, a carefully crafted recipe by a specialist in veterinary nutrition should be used with proper vitamin and mineral supplementation. Even with a commercial diet, occasional treats of boiled white meat chicken, turkey, salmon, or tuna can be perfectly fine in small quantities.
