Cats are obligate carnivores, so they really don't have any need for fruits or vegetables as part of their normal diet. You could certainly offer small amounts of potatoes, carrots, or green beans as a treat if you wish - but don't be surprised if Sam doesn't have much interest in these things. Most cats far prefer meat or fish as a treat :)
