Why is my cat drooling, lethargic, clingy, and has a fever?

Poor SoCo sounds extremely ill, and the symptoms you are describing are a medical emergency. As a senior cat, he could have many things wrong with him including dental problems, diabetes, kidney failure, hyperthyroidism, liver failure, or cancer among others. He needs veterinary care now to diagnose what is causing all his symptoms so he can be treated. Please take him into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. The information to reach that vet is found on a clinic's answering machine or website.

Drooling can be a sign of dental disease, oral ulcers from ingesting toxins or from some medical conditions, or even nausea or pain. If you feel Leo's behavior is abnormal you should either recheck with your vet or get a second opinion elsewhere. A sedated oral exam might be helpful, or blood work might be recommended as well.

I am sorry to hear about Blue. One thing we worry about in male cats exhibiting this behavior is a urinary blockage. It can make them lethargic, vomit, not eat, painful (drooling can be a sign of pain). If you aren't sure he is urinating normally or if you press on his lower belly and he is painful then we would be very concerned this could be his issue and this is a medical emergency and he should be seen right away.

I am so sorry to hear about your kitty. Chipotle sounds like and appears to be quite ill based on your description/photos. The drooling could be do to nausea (which can be due to many different diseases), infection in the mouth or the throat or nasal passages, tumors in these areas. He needs to be seen by a veterinarian as soon as possible to determine what is causing these symptoms.

He will need to see his veterinarian if his symptoms persist. If he did acquire the respiratory infection from his housemate, then post-nasal drop could be making him nauseous. Hello. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. So sorry Frank is having this issue. It sounds pretty serious. There are many things that could be going on with him. His symptoms are not specific for any one illness or disease process. All the symptoms don't seem to go together either: increased appetite but drooling and weight loss..... seems odd. Some of the things that come to mind that would be at the top of my list would be: * dental issue (ie: infected tooth, oral tumor) * kidney failure * poisoning/toxicity * liver failure * thyroid disease * cancer I suggest you get Frank to your vet for an exam and some blood testing to start with. Many of the issues I listed above can be ruled in/out with simple blood testing. This is not something that is going to resolve on it's own at home. Hope this helps. Best wishes.

It sounds like Archie may be sick. It sounds like he is lethargic and having a decrease in appetite, both of which are signs of illness. He could have a dental problem, systemic illness, infection, inflammation, or injury causing these symptoms. The drooling could be due to dental problems, pain, or nausea. I wold take him into a vet now to get checked out. I hope this helps!
