My cat cries like he's in pain, but vet says healthy. Is it normal?

It may be that he is painful or not feeling well and that's leading to him reacting in this way. Ideally, take him to your vet for an exam. However, if he is eating/drinking/acting normally it is reasonable to just keep a close eye on him and take him in if other symptoms develop. Make sure that his litter box habits are normal. (he is urinating and defecating normally). Please do not give him any over the counter pain medications as there are none available that are safe for cats. IT is possible Norman is trying to communicate with you he is not feeling well. I would recommend continue to monitor his behavior. If he is eating,drinking and using his litter box well I would just keep a close eye on him. However if he stops eating, has vomiting/diarrhea or continues to vocalized I would take him to a vet for an exam. Sometimes a vet can find an issue on a exam that we cannot detect at home.

It is possible he has a source of pain and discomfort causing him distress and yes, I would recommend a full physical exam by your vet. Dental and bladder conditions are common causes of pain without obvious injury or sickness in cats and should be ruled out

A cat in heat can certainly cause a male to be more restless and vocal. For his best long term health I would recommend having Kovu neutered, but being vocal is not necessarily a sign of illness. If he is eating, drinking, urinating and defecating normally, then "talking" may just be his personality.

Vocalizing can mean anything from I'm hungry, I want attention, I am in pain, I want to play. If she able to walk? is she eating and drinking? has she had any vomiting and/or diarrhea, etc? Is her breathing normal? Without more info, I'm afraid we can't speculate on the cause.

Is he a young cat? If so he may be looking for something to do such as hunting. If he is an older cat then I would be worried about possible hyperthyroidism or diabetes. You may want to consider different toys or tall cat trees that allow him to watch birds out of the window. If you have any concerns that something isn’t quite right then I would encourage you to have him evaluated by your veterinarian to rule out any medical concerns. Yes, this can be normal. Some kittens are simply more vocal than others. I would be concerned if he was only doing it when he was in the litter box, as that can be a sign of a medical problem, but if he's doing all the time, he likely wants love and attention :-)
