Took my cat( who as of last week was a semi feral) to the vet for bad skin issues and she was given a Convenia shot. Cats not eating much and had diarrhea today. Just read 3 articles on the drug and major comments of owners who say they lost their pet from this. Could i have put my cat on a death sentence just from wanting to help her?

I'm sorry Misty isn't feeling well! No, you have not put her on a death sentence and I would caution you about things you read on the internet. You have no idea if the people who are making these comments are actually telling the truth about what has happened to their pet, and many of these articles are written by people who have no veterinary training at all. It's all anecdotal evidence, and if Convenia was a deadly drug, it would not be on the market. That being said, it does have side effects, as with any drug, and they include decreased appetite and diarrhea. I would try offering Misty a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) in small amounts several times a day for a couple to days to see if that helps increase her appetite and helps with the diarrhea. Then slowly add back in her normal diet.
