Why is my cat cold, not eating, throwing up, and sleeping all day?

Hypothermic kittens can be much more sick than they let on. Vomiting can be caused by many things, including hairballs, food allergy, eating too fast, GI blockage, intestinal parasites, IBD, systemic disease (liver, kidney, pancreas, diabetes), among others. If the vomiting happens for more than 24 hours, or if Tom does not eat in that time, he needs to see a vet immediately. Continue to encourage him to drink water and eat canned cat food. You can use a heating pad on the low setting to help warm him up, but check often that it is not too hot as it is quite easy to burn their skin. You can leave the heating pad where he can sit on it, but if he moves away do not force him to go back.

This temperature is slightly below normal. Normal temp is 37.7 to 38.8. We can sometimes see the body temp be a bit below normal when their blood circulation is less not as good as it should be — most often we see this this due to heart disease or dehydration. If he is very dumpy and lethargic (which is what I assume you mean by “lifeless”) and recently vomited as well, please take him to your vet. They may recommend blood tests and possibly xrays. Treatment will depend on what they find on exam and any testing.

Loss of appetite and lethargy can be observed with many conditions such as gastroenteritis, dietary indiscretion, kidney disease, pancreatitis, among many other possibilities. Cold feet could be an indication of dehydration, low blood pressure, hypothermia, among many other possibilities. I recommend that you have Chaz evaluated by a veterinarian as soon as possible for further assessment and treatment as this can be something concerning. It's hard to know exactly what could be going on. She may have gotten hypothermic, she may have had a seizure, she may have been feeling bad before going outside and been looking for somewhere quiet. Regardless, since she's vomited a few times and has been lethargic for 10 hours, I would consider taking her to an emergency room for evaluation tonight. If she still seems very sleepy tomorrow, she should definitely be evaluated. Good luck to you both!

I suspect Cleo is not feeling well and may be nauseous. Just like people, there are many conditions that can make pets feel sick. This could range from bacterial over growth to intestinal blockage. Also like us, diseases are best addressed early and this may result in a better prognosis. You need to monitor Cleo closely. If she is not eating or drinking well for 24 hours, if there is vomiting/diarrhea/coughing or signs of pain, I recommend to have her examined by the veterinarian today. If the lethargy lasts for 24 hours, your kitty also needs to be examined. The doctor will need to learn the underlying cause in order to give appropriate treatment. Bring in a stool sample in case the doctor needs to test it. At home, Cleo should continue resting. Encourage eating and drinking. Bring her the food and water. Fluid intake is very important when pets and people don't feel good. You may try offering her some boiled white meat chicken or canned tuna (in water not oil). Hopefully this will pass quickly. Anorexia and lethargy are not specific symptoms for one particular disease. In fact, these signs can be caused by several problems, like infection, liver, kidney, pancreas diseases, heart and lung problems, pain and more. Low temperature is probably a sign of being generally unwell. Yuki should have a full blood test done followed by ultrasound scan of the abdomen to make the diagnosis. I don't think in this situation definite diagnosis can be made by taking x-rays only.

Allergies do not typically cause fever, lethargy, and decreased appetite in cats so he should be examined by a vet to determine the cause. Your vet can do a physical examination, blood work, and x-rays, if needed, to help diagnose and then determine the best way to treat the problem. He could have an infection that needs to be treated.
