My cat likes baby food with lemon. Is citrus safe for cats to eat?

No. If anything, lemon juice may make the situation worse. Additionally, lemons (and other citrus fruits) contain compounds that are toxic to cats. Since it has been 2 weeks, consider an exam with your veterinarian. Submit a stool sample to diagnose intestinal parasites or bacterial overgrowth. If this is not possible, fast your cat for 12-24 hours. Resume feeding a bland diet in small, frequent amounts until the stool is normal then transition slowly to the regular diet. If symptoms persist of if your cat develops lethargy, vomiting, loss of appetite or abdominal pain, then he or she will need to be seen by vet.

A small amount of lime juice should not cause any problems except potentially a little drooling/ gastrointestinal upset. It is usually the skin and oils from citrus fruit that can cause toxicity. I'm not sure what you mean by a "baby food diet". There are some nutrients that cats need that humans, dogs, and most other animals don't need (it's called Taurine if you want to do more research) so it's important from them to be on a food formulated for cats. That said, it would be safe for a cat with liver disease to have sweet potatoes as treats if they are interested. I would recommend talking to your vet about good prescription liver diets, such as Hills I/d. Best of luck to your kitty!

It is not ideal to feed your pets people food like bread however a small amount should be ok and should not harm your cat. If you do decide to give people food as treats, do so in only small amounts. Use foods that are bland and easily digestible (like a small piece of bread) and have low calories. One of the biggest problems with feeding people food to pets is that it can cause them to become overweight. It can also make them picky eaters in the future.

Bananas are not harmful to cats. Some cats have a sweet tooth and like certain fruits. My cats love cantalope.
