My calf has bloody intestines hanging out. Is this an emergency?

I have a 3 day old calf that looks like it's intestines came out it's butt. It's all bloody & just hanging out. What do I do?

A rectal prolapse requires veterinary attention. Your veterinarian may cleanse and reduce the prolapse and suture it in place. There is usually an underlying cause (parasites, diarrhea, etc) which should be diagnosed and treated to prevent recurrence.
