My cat ate too many treats. Will she be okay or have an upset stomach?

Hopefully he will suffer no more than gas. If he does seem uncomfortable you could ask your vet for something to soothe and line the tummy such as famotidine. If he seems very ill I would take him to the vet in case he develops pancreatitis if the treats are fatty. I think this is unlikely though and he should be fine. The likelihood is that he has just been greedy for his treats. Keep them well out of the way. You shouldn't need to fill the bowl right up, I recommend feeding a good quality food such as Hills or royal canin and feedibg for your cat's weight according to the packet.

If your cat only vomits when given a treat but otherwise is tolerating the wet food without vomiting or diarrhea, then there is little cause for concern. Cat do not need extra treats to be happy and healthy. In fact, some cats can be very sensitive to even minor changes in their diet. Your cat may just be sensitive to one or more ingredients in the treats. Your should seek veterinary attention, however, if your cat routinely has bouts of vomiting or diarrhea that aren't associated with changes in the diet.

At worst, you may see some vomiting and/or diarrhea. If necessary, you can fast him for 12 hours then feed a bland diet in small, frequent amounts until symptoms resolve. If symptoms persist or worsen, have him seen by your vet.

Oh Molly. What a naughty girl! The only problem we would anticipate with a dog eating an excessive number of treats and cat food would be gastrointestinal upset. If Molly develops diarrhea, you could consider feeding her a bland diet of 1/2 cooked white meat chicken (no skin or bones) and 1/2 cooked white rice until the diarrhea resolves. If Molly is lethargic, does not want to eat, vomits or has bloody diarrhea, I would recommend having your veterinarian examine her. Good luck! Hopefully Molly won't have any problems. Hi, thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Poor Cuddles! Sometimes cats just vomit. If she is eating, drinking, playing and doesn't continue to vomit I wouldn't worry too much. It could have been from a hair ball, the treat upset her, she was full or from excitement. I would avoid that treat for a while. Be sure she has been dewormed well, has had her stool tested and is up to date on vaccines. I hope this helps!

L-tryptophan is just an amino acid, a constituent of proteins. Excessive treats like these ones could cause vomiting and diarrhoea. If that is the case, as a first approach, I would suggest to withhold food for the next 8-12 hours and then start feeding with a bland diet based on boiled chicken and rice in small portion every 6 hours for the following 48hours. Then gradually reintroduce the normal diet over 5 days. I would definitely recommend a veterinary check up if the signs persist more than 48hours or you notice lethargy or inappetence.
