My cat ate a small piece of pepperoni. Is it toxic? Should I worry?

There is no concern for toxicity here. Pepperoni may cause some upset stomach issues but other than that she should be fine. If you do see some upset stomach symptoms (vomiting, diarrhea), then you can try a probiotic (i.e. Culturelle over the counter) and a bland diet of lean ground beef and rice and pumpkin (not the pie filling) for a few days, then slowly transition her back to her normal diet. If it was only a small amount of garlic and onion powder your cats should be fine. Garlic and onion are toxic to cats but usually the dose that they can get from eating small amount of powder or seasoning is not toxic. I would suggest you to monitor your cats over the next 24-48hrs for signs of lethargy and inappetance. If they develop any worrying signs you should take them to your local vets.

It is unlikely that Pepper will get poisoned by a few licks of broth with a few crushed onion pieces in it. There is no need to take her to an emergency vet. She would have to ingest a lot of onion in order to get anemia from it. I think your cat should be fine. They have to actually ingest the garlic and a clove in her water bowl should have shed enough material into the water to affect her. Depending on how big the piece of brisket was, probably not - the toxic dose of garlic is about 1-2 whole cloves per kilogram. I'm not sure how much Millie weighs, but an average cat is normally around 10-11 lbs which works out to 5 kilograms. So she would have needed to eat around 5 cloves of garlic (and/or an equivalent amount of scallions, which are not as toxic) in order to cause any problems. That being said - if you are concerned or have any doubts about how much she may have eaten, the safest bet is always to have her checked by a vet. If he/she has any concerns, they could go ahead and start treatment to try and prevent any problems.
