My cat ate oleander. No symptoms after 24 hours, should I worry?

Oh naughty Bruce! Signs of toxicity from the jade plant include vomiting, depression, ataxia (loss of muscle control), and a slow heart rate. Signs of depression in a cat include lack of grooming, lethargy, changes in personality, aggression, increased periods of sleeping, and hiding. If you are seeing any of these signs in Bruce, you need to take him into a vet immediately. Should he not be showing any of these signs eight hours after chewing on the plant, then you may be lucky and he should be ok. I would remove the jade plant from your home to prevent him from chewing on it again. Keep an eye on him for the next 24-48 hours, and if they pass without any symptoms of toxicity, then he should be fine.

I would monitor for the next 24 hours for signs of trouble breathing, weakness, inappetance, vomiting, diarrhea and seizures or tremors, as these are all signs of Peppermint Toxicity, however she should have displayed signs by this point if it was going to become clinical. Unfortunately the daylily is toxic to cats, and clinical signs usually occur between 6-12 hours after exposure. Watch out for lethargy, increased drinking, increased urination, racing heart beat, increased heart rate, vomiting, and diarrhea. If you see any of those signs, rush Dewey into a vet immediately.

As long as she only got a tiny amount, there shouldn't be anything to worry about. However, these plants can cause gastrointestinal symptoms and burning or irritation in the mouth, along with breathing difficulty, coma, or even death, if a sufficient amount of leaves is ingested. Keep an eye on her, if she will let you look in her mouth, check for any irritation, if she starts displaying any adverse symptoms, such as drooling, vomiting, lethargy or loss of appetite, get her in to see your vet right away.

At worst, you may see some oral irritation, drooling or stomach upset. The plant contains calcium oxalate crystals which are very irritating. If you've seen no symptoms, they are likely not affected. If it happens again, rinse the mouth with cool water for 10-15 minutes and offer a bland diet in small, frequent amounts until any symptoms resolve.

After a couple days, there is no sense in taking him to the vet unless he is acting sick. Fortunately, Peace Lily (Spathiphyllum) toxicity isn’t as great as that of other types of lilies, including Easter lily and Asiatic lilies. The Peace lily, isn’t a true lily, so it doesn’t cause damage to the kidneys and liver like the other lillies do.

Yes, you are correct that pine needles do cause toxicity in cats but it's not serious side effects such as death. I would not rush her into a vet now, I would monitor her for signs of toxicity. The oils from the needle can be irritating to the mouth, causing excessive drooling or vomiting. You can try flushing Mirz's mouth with cool water. Pine needles are also difficult to digest, and they can cause GI irritation, vomiting, and possible GI obstruction or puncture if enough are eaten. If you do see vomiting, you can try withholding food for 12-24 hours, then feeding a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in her normal diet. If the vomiting continues in the absence of food, she vomits the bland diet, she refuses to eat the bland diet, you see blood in her feces or vomit, she has diarrhea, and/or she becomes very lethargic, then I would rush her into a vet.
