Hello, oleander contains a toxin which affects the hear. Other signs include nausea, vomiting, drooling. However, signs are typically seen within an hour or two after ingestion. If Misty is currently doing ok, then I would continue to monitor her for any evidence of weakness, collapse, lethargy, or vomiting and bring her to your veterinarian if you notice any of the above. The biggest problem with essential oils is not the smell, but when the oil gets onto the cat and they lick it off. This can happen when the oil is aerosolized or if it is sprayed or poured and the cat walks through it since they will then lick their paws. So, if you have sprayed or poured the peppermint oil in an area that Luna may walk through, then make sure you wash the area well. The strong smell is mainly a concern if a cat has asthma and is not associated with the toxicity aspect of essential oils. Parsley oil will not help in this situation. Because Sophie has stage 2 renal issues and peppermint oil is toxic to cats, it's best to get her checked out by a vet asap. I'd recommend bloodwork and a urinalysis to check how her kidneys are functions. Please take her into a vet. Best of luck.

Clinical signs of marijuana toxicosis in cats include drooling, increased locomotor activity (e.g. wandering aimlessly, spontaneous jumping behavior), sedation, depression, anxiety, head bobbing/weaving, swaying from side to side, disorientation, vocalization, agitation, aggression, drinking excessively, difficulty swallowing, sneezing, not eating, seizures, diarrhea, and vomiting. Please monitor her carefully for the next 12-24 hours. If you notice any severe symptoms you will need to take her to your veterinarian. I cannot say how long it will be in her system as I do not know how much she inhaled. My guess would be less than 12 hours for one episode of direct inhalation but each individual animal is different in how they react (just like humans). Yes, I would encourage you to have her evaluated by your veterinarian as soon as possible. The mint may have really irritated her stomach lining.
