My cat ate human medicine days ago. Should I worry if no symptoms?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 12 lbs

I think my cat might have ate my medicine last Wednesday but it's now Sunday would I have seen a difference in him. He hasnt thrown up He is pooping and peeing I think he might have not sure though. I cant remember if I took them. Lisinopril Phentermine Lamotrigine Pioglitazone

If he ingested it last Wednesday is not showing any symptoms I would not be worried.

Lisinopril can be given to cats. Of course I don't know what dose he ate but you would have seen side effects by now if it was going to be a problem.

Pioglitazone is not used widely in cats but there is a study that shows it can be given to cats and was effective to increase insulin sensitivity. They didn't show any side effects at the dose given. Whether he ate your dose and it was a toxic level, I don't know.

Phentermine and Lamotrigine would be toxic to a cat - you would have seen symptoms by now.

Cats rarely will eat any medications on their own. I would definitely find it hard to believe a cat would eat 4 medications. So, I doubt he ingested them. Just be careful to keep them out of his reach as some of them could be deadly.

The intoxication depends on the dosage ingested. By the sound of it, if they ingested them they would have shown signs by now especially regarding the Venlafaxine. You can find clinical signs you should notice and relative treatment here at this link http://www.petpoisonhelpline.com/poison/effexor/ I would recommend to take them to your veterinarian as soon as possible, earlier than three hours (emergency clinic) if you notice anything compatible with the signs listed in that link. No home remedies are available unfortunately.

My cat ate another cat's methimazole and prednisolone. Is he okay?

That should not cause any damage or severe toxic effect. I would just monitor him at this stage but I would definitively recommend a veterinary check up if you notice diarrhoea, vomiting, lethargy or inappetence. My cat ate my indigestion tablets. Is OTC medicine toxic for cats?

In order to give you the best advice we would need to know the name of the medication. Can you please post again with that information? Cats are VERY sensitive to over the counter medications so it could very well be something toxic that he ingested and he may not show any symptoms of toxicity right away. If you could also give us his approximate weight that would be helpful as well.

My dog ate one lisinopril pill. Should I be concerned about toxicity?

He should be fine. You may see some vomiting, diarrhea and/or lethargy. He would need to ingest 8 of the pills for there to be a risk of toxicity. If necessary, withhold food for 24 hours, allowing small amounts of water or unflavored PediaLyte. Resume feeding a bland diet in small, frequent amounts until any symptoms of GI upset resolve. Transition slowly to his regular diet afterwards. If symptoms persist or worsen, have him examined by your veterinarian.

My pet ate Lexapro. Is this antidepressant toxic to dogs or cats?

Hello. At that dose & with a single acute ingestion, I would not expect to see anything in the dog or older cat. But if the kitten ingested the 20 mg, then you may see symptoms of serotonin syndrome. This could include vomiting & diarrhea, & neurological signs such as ataxia or incoordination while walking, agitation, tremors, mild seizures, vocalization, disorientation, or even sedation & lethargy. You could take the smallest cat to your veterinarian for possible decontamination, or just keep a close watch on everyone for any concerning signs I have mentioned.
