My kitten ate my medication. How long until symptoms appear?

If he ingested it last Wednesday is not showing any symptoms I would not be worried. Lisinopril can be given to cats. Of course I don't know what dose he ate but you would have seen side effects by now if it was going to be a problem. Pioglitazone is not used widely in cats but there is a study that shows it can be given to cats and was effective to increase insulin sensitivity. They didn't show any side effects at the dose given. Whether he ate your dose and it was a toxic level, I don't know. Phentermine and Lamotrigine would be toxic to a cat - you would have seen symptoms by now. Cats rarely will eat any medications on their own. I would definitely find it hard to believe a cat would eat 4 medications. So, I doubt he ingested them. Just be careful to keep them out of his reach as some of them could be deadly.

The intoxication depends on the dosage ingested. By the sound of it, if they ingested them they would have shown signs by now especially regarding the Venlafaxine. Hello. At that dose & with a single acute ingestion, I would not expect to see anything in the dog or older cat. But if the kitten ingested the 20 mg, then you may see symptoms of serotonin syndrome. This could include vomiting & diarrhea, & neurological signs such as ataxia or incoordination while walking, agitation, tremors, mild seizures, vocalization, disorientation, or even sedation & lethargy. You could take the smallest cat to your veterinarian for possible decontamination, or just keep a close watch on everyone for any concerning signs I have mentioned. He should be fine. You may see some vomiting, diarrhea and/or lethargy. He would need to ingest 8 of the pills for there to be a risk of toxicity. If necessary, withhold food for 24 hours, allowing small amounts of water or unflavored PediaLyte. Resume feeding a bland diet in small, frequent amounts until any symptoms of GI upset resolve. Transition slowly to his regular diet afterwards. If symptoms persist or worsen, have him examined by your veterinarian.
