My cat ate bubble wrap and is vomiting. Should I take him to the vet?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Siamese | Male | neutered | 13 lbs

I have a 3 yr old Siamese mix cat (about 13 pounds). Two days ago he ate a very tiny shred of bubble wrap (I don’t even think it was 1 cm in length/width). I am worried bc he vomited twice in a row yesterday and I found another stain this morning. He is still super playful and loving/not showing any signs of discomfort and still eating/drinking. I am not sure when the last time he pooped was but I cleaned the litter box so I can tell now. Just wondering if I should take action or wait a bit

Hello, sorry to hear about your kitty. He could be vomiting from irritation caused by the bubble wrap. Alternatively, your kitten may have gotten into something else that you did not note. You should bring him to a veterinarian if he vomits more than 3-4 times in a day, if he becomes lethargic, or he loses his appetite. Otherwise, he may get over this on his own within a few days.

Please make sure that he does not have any additional things he could get into at home. Hope this helps and best of luck.
