Are Air Wick and Febreze plug-ins safe to use around my dogs and cats?

Hello. For the most part, these diffusers are safe for cats, as long as there are regular air exchanges & some fresh air coming in all day. Most HVAC systems have automatic air exchanges, but if the weather is good, keeping a window cracked a bit is perfect. Some cats are very sensitive to odors, some do not care for them at all, so as long as the cats are not confined to a closed in room & can move to a different area, there is no harm in essential oils. One caveat, we have a diffuser mounted on a wall in our clinic & it malfunctioned ( exploded ) sending the contents all over a hallway. Fortunately, none of the office cats seemed to have walked through this, but that would be a concern if a cat ingests any of this. But otherwise, I would just enjoy the fragrance of your choice. Our pets are very sensitive to the chemicals in essential oils (think how much more sensitive their sense of smell is!), and exposure to diffused essential oils can be dangerous. Cats are particularly sensitive, but it's best to avoid diffusing oils around dogs as well. If you must use diffused oils, do so in an enclosed room and keep the pets out to minimize their exposure. Hi! It should be fine to burn candles around your dogs as long as they don’t have any concurrent respiratory issues (asthma, bronchitis, etc). If the scents or smoke are irritating to you, then I’d assume they are to the dogs as well. But if the candles are clean burning and your dogs are otherwise healthy, there should not be any problem. It’s a good thing to ask though, because some pets like birds can be extremely sensitive to candles and we recommend not burning them around birds. I hope this was helpful!

Most air fresheners aren’t toxic to dogs and I wouldn’t have any worries unless Bentley has chronic bronchitis, collapsing trachea or another airway disease. In this case you should avoid all air fresheners. Watch for coughing.

The only air "fresheners" we worry about with cats are essential oils. Don't forget that cats' sense of smell is much better than ours, so an air freshener that is too strong can actually deter a cat from wanting to go in the room with it. The most important thing in keeping the room smelling good is scooping the litter box at least once daily and cleaning the entire thing (changing the litter completely) at least once weekly. I also noticed that you have Creamcicle listed at unneutered. Getting him neutered will also decrease the odor of his urine which might be helpful. Good luck! Hello, there is no problem using the humidifier/diffuser as long as the room in which you are using this is not closed. There should always be a source of fresh air into the room, so cracking a window is a very good idea, even for you. Otherwise, just make sure there is some air exchange going on in the room. This product should be fine to use. As with any cleaners, obviously ingestion would not be good but just being around the scent or walking on surfaces that have been cleaned with this product (once dry) should be fine.
