My 2-week-old kitten isn't meowing. How do I take her to the vet?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | 1 month and 16 days old

I think that my kitten might have lost her voice.She is just 2 weeks old and i hear her siblings meowing but i have not heard her meow for the last week or so.she opens her month like as if she is meowing but there is no sound.she is so little so i dont know how to take her to a vet to get her checked up.Should i take her to a vet? and if i do need to then any advice on how to take her?

I would take her to a vet if she seems in distress or is having trouble, just to make sure there isn't an issue such as a structural problem or illness causing her inability to meow. Vets see pets from birth to end of life, so they should be able to examine her, even if she is still very little. You can either take her in a carrier, or if she is very tiny, wrap her gently in a towel or blanket and carry her in your arms. You can also bring all the kittens and mom together in a carrier for a full checkup if you do not want to separate the kitten from its mother.

    Sometimes the mother knows when something is wrong with a newborn kitten and will take it off somewhere. It is hard to know why some kittens do not thrive, also called "Fading Kitten" syndrome. There is likely some genetically wrong or a health issue with this kitten. You can have the baby examined by a vet, but a lot of times they appear normal and still do not survive. You can start bottle feeding it and take it away from the mother and see if it will thrive.

Midnight is absolutely beautiful! It could be that she is suffering from laryngitis, which is an inflammation of the mucous membranes of the larynx. Signs of laryngitis include hoarseness and/or loss of voice. It could also be that she's just a quiet cat who doesn't meow. I wouldn't be concerned if this is how he has always sounded. Upper respiratory infections are very common in young kittens and sometimes swelling can affect the vocal folds - it's possible that he had some scar tissue formed. It's also possible that this is how he was born. If he does have trouble swallowing or breathing, or if he regurgitates or vomits you should see your vet.
