Is 4oz of wet food too much for my 10-week kitten with soft poop?

I am a fan of Royal Canin, so yes I would recommend switching your new kittens to all Royal Canin. It's a very high quality food, and because they have veterinary nutritionists on staff, you are assured the food is balanced to meet your kittens's nutritional needs. I would feed them according to the instructions on the bag. It could be one of your kittens has intestinal worms, causing its stool to be a little wet. These are common in kittens. Hello. At 4 weeks of age, your kitten should be well on the way to eating solid food. I would prepare a dish of wet cat food mixed with a little kitten milk replacer & offer her this 3 times a day. If she still wants the bottle, I would only be doing this twice a day to encourage her to eat the solid food. A kitten this age will probably have 2-3 bowel movements in a 24 hour period. At 4-5 weeks, kittens should be transitioning to solid foods, so it would be best to mix in the KMR with the wet food into a sort of slurry to help with the transition and make it easier to digest. You can also weigh Cleo with a food scale or other small scale to get her weight in ounces which can help you determine how big she is. Most kittens at this age will still needed to be fed several times a day. Intestinal parasites may be competing with her nutritional needs. At 5 weeks I do not think you need to use the formula any more. I would feed her 3-4 times per day and leave some dry food down. As long as Okoye is pooping at least once a day, I wouldn't be too worried about her. I would be concerned if she wasn't pooping at all. Make sure the milk you are giving her is kitten milk replacer or a specific cat milk. Cats are lactose intolerant and shouldn't be given cow's milk. I would feed her at least three times a day with wet food. This is because wet food can dry out quickly and become unappetizing to her, leading her to not eat it. You can mix together wet food and dry food for her, or just feed her dry food. If you feed her dry food, you can leave the food out all the time. Feed her three times a day with the wet food until she is six months old, and then you can feed her twice a day. Good luck, I hope this helps!

The other very big cause of diarrhea in kittens is intestinal parasites. I would bring a sample of the stool to your veterinarian & have it examined microscopically. He is just hungry and growing, but 8 cans (24 oz of food is way too much. Try to slowly reduce this to a maximum of 6-8 oz/day over 3 feeds. He will pester you for food, but you have to plow through that.
