Is the wandering jew plant (Tradescantia) toxic for my pet bird?

This plant is considered to be toxic by affecting the skin only (Dermatitis, skin allergy), it doesn't sound as Ricky is being affected that way, maybe he is lethargic from a different reason but it is not likely to be due to this plant. if he seems seriously lethargic though, you should take him to the ER ASAP.

It's quite concerning that Nova may be vomiting blood, and it could be that she ate something else causing the vomiting and blood in her vomit. There can be a number of serious causes of blood in the vomit, such as perforation of the GI tract, eating something toxic, rat bait poisoning, or GI ulcers among other causes. I would take Nova into a vet immediately for medical treatment and to diagnose the cause of her vomiting with blood.

Not all succulents are toxic, but to know for sure you would need the genus and species of plant. Some of them look very similar, toxic or not. Once you have this information, you can search online. To be safe, keep it away from your bird until it can be deemed safe or not. Thanks for reaching out about your budgie. Milkweed is toxic to most animals, containing a toxin that affects the heart. Toxic in large quantities, but with an animals as small as a budgie, could be serious. A veterinary visit as soon as possible to prevent absorption is recommended. The longer you wait, might not be treatable if absorbed. Giving fluid support, activated charcoal and gastrointestinal protectants are recommended. Good luck.

Wow, this is a really difficult question to answer. Could you please repost your question with a photo of the plant/stem? There is no way for me to help you without that and even with that I am not sure I will know what it is. Try to do some research on your own to see what the name of the plant is and then search Google as to whether or not it is known to be toxic to birds. Your other option is to take Chita and the plant to your local AVIAN vet and have them examine it for you. Wish I could be more help but without knowing what the plant is or seeing it myself I cannot possibly tell you if it is toxic or not. I hope this was helpful in some way. Hi and thank you for your question, You will find all sorts of opinions about this. In general, eucalyptus can be used for perches but avoid the leaves and fruit. Edible fruit trees or Hibiscus branches are better. Regards
