Is my succulent plant toxic or safe for my pet canary to be near?

I'm finding some information to suggest that yes they could be toxic to cats, but not a definitive answer to your question. My recommendation is to keep your pachyphytum succulent out of reach of your cat to keep Jackson from chewing at it. You can keep in up on a high shelf or in a cage to keep him away from it. If you want to plant it outside, I recommend not doing it if he is allowed outside. Hope this helps!

From what I've been able to find, the sap is an irritant, but not as toxic as many more frequently encountered plants, such as oleander. Watch for signs of skin reddening and rash, in a cat that was silly enough to taste it, blistering of the tongue and mucous membranes of the mouth is likely. It sounds like you found it quickly. The ASPCA Poison Control Website is the best guide for toxic and non-toxic plants. When I filtered for non-toxic plants for dogs, there is a list of 587 plants. Wow, this is a really difficult question to answer. Could you please repost your question with a photo of the plant/stem? There is no way for me to help you without that and even with that I am not sure I will know what it is. Try to do some research on your own to see what the name of the plant is and then search Google as to whether or not it is known to be toxic to birds. Your other option is to take Chita and the plant to your local AVIAN vet and have them examine it for you. Wish I could be more help but without knowing what the plant is or seeing it myself I cannot possibly tell you if it is toxic or not. I hope this was helpful in some way. Hi there! The succulent plant called monkey tail (also called donkey tail or lamb's tail) is nontoxic to dogs. The cactus plant called monkey's tail could cause injury from the thorns, however. I hope this helps and thanks for posting!
