Coral Cactus sap exposure: What are toxicity signs for my cat or me?

My questions weren't answered the first time so here it goes again. I cant find anything online while searching, I had a Coral Cactus that was broken, but I didn't see any white sap. (think I noticed it early enough) I tore the top off the steam, upon learning that the whole plant+Sap is toxic I threw it away then cleaned up. Now my question is this if I got a drop of juice on me after tearing the top of whats the signs I should look for? What bout toxicity signs in my cat? Cleaned but worried.

From what I've been able to find, the sap is an irritant, but not as toxic as many more frequently encountered plants, such as oleander. Watch for signs of skin reddening and rash, in a cat that was silly enough to taste it, blistering of the tongue and mucous membranes of the mouth is likely. It sounds like you found it quickly. Just be careful of having plants around cats, so many are toxic. For a list of plants, both toxic and non-toxic, visit the ASPCA website. They also have a free app for your phone.

Cat near milky sap plant. Is it poisonous? What symptoms to watch?

Depending on the type of plant, it may or may not cause harm. If you are able to take part of the plant to a local nursery and find out the type of plant it was, this would be helpful. The main things you want to look for are decrease in activity, decrease in appetite, vomiting or diarrhea. Also look in his mouth of any ulcerstions as some plants only cause a local reaction. My cat ate Madagascar Palm leaves. Is this plant poisonous for her?

The Pachypodium lamerei is also known as the Madagascar Palm, and from what I can find, it does appear to be toxic to cats. It has a highly toxic sap and if ingested it can cause "vomiting, diarrhea, a lack of appetite, lethargy, an irregular heartbeat, and even death if consumed in large amounts" according to the ASPCA. I would move this plant out of Lucy's reach, even throwing it away or giving it away so she doesn't have any access to it. If you do see any of the signs I mentioned above, take her into a vet right away. I hope this helps!

Are pachyphytum succulents toxic to cats? How to keep them safe.

I'm finding some information to suggest that yes they could be toxic to cats, but not a definitive answer to your question. My recommendation is to keep your pachyphytum succulent out of reach of your cat to keep Jackson from chewing at it. You can keep in up on a high shelf or in a cage to keep him away from it. If you want to plant it outside, I recommend not doing it if he is allowed outside. Hope this helps!

My cat ate a philodendron plant. Is it toxic? Should I be concerned?

At worst, you may see some oral irritation, drooling or stomach upset. The plant contains calcium oxalate crystals which are very irritating. If you've seen no symptoms, they are likely not affected. If it happens again, rinse the mouth with cool water for 10-15 minutes and offer a bland diet in small, frequent amounts until any symptoms resolve.

Amaryllis toxic to pets: Can touching it harm my cat or home?

I agree that I would keep Mirz away from the plant, and ensure that she cannot access it when you are not there. It is fine for you to touch her after touching the plant. The toxicity comes from ingesting/chewing any part of the plant, not from the contact itself.
