Why does my duck have eye discharge even after human eye drops?

If the duckling is wild it would be best to seek out the help of a local wildlife refuge or rehab center that can safely treat and raise the baby until it is ready to go back out into the wild. Runny eyes and sneezing can be a sign of infection or respiratory illness, so keeping the baby warm, and eating and drinking may help until you can transfer it somewhere for care.

Do not apply any medication in her eye without having her examined by a veterinarian first to diagnose infection or injury. It is possible to do more damage than good if you apply the wrong medication. Once she has been seen by the vet, the proper medication can be dispensed or prescribed.

Ducks should be fed more than just corn as feeding only one type of food can lead to nutritional imbalance and diseases with symptoms similar to what you are seeing. It's very difficult to say whether or not the eye should be enucleated. I would agree that Turbo is not going to be seeing anything out of the eye more than likely. If it is not causing him any pain and there does not seem to be any signs of infection, I would not say that it is an emergency to have it removed,. Ophthalmic surgery in a bird is not easy and not widely performed. However, if you begin to see any signs of illness, continued ocular swelling, significant discharge from the eye, or indications of systemic illness, at that point I would start to reconsider leaving it.

The discoloration around the eye is probably from the excessive tearing. Since you are unable to take him to the vet try flushing the eye with a sterile saline solution and using a humidifier in the room to help in case it is allergies. Best of luck. Although the picture is out of focus and I would recommend to post another pic to have a more specific answer, the eye discharge could be related to an upper respiratory tract jnfection/inflammation. A clinical examination at your local veterinarian is essential to confirm this clinical suspicion and treat appropriately. A different or systemic antibiotics may be needed.
