My cockatoo is sleepy after vet visit and nail trim. Is it normal?

It is certainly posdible that he could be damaged as they are quite delicate and their bones are relatively brittle. However I doubt this is the case, more likely I think that the bird has got really stressed when being held and overheated and likely struggled for breath. Handling can be incredibly stressful for birds and sometimes can even result in heart attacks. I would kerp him in a really calm and quiet environment as this has likely taken a large toal on him and he needs to rest. If there is no improvement you will need a vet check just in case there has been damage.

I'm not sure what you're asking. Your bird should be fine and act normal after a nail trim or feather trim unless they were injured during the process, in which case it should be addressed at the time of trimming. Without a photo it would be hard to say if the red eyes are normal or not, but if Jupiter got a clean bill of health at the vet, I wouldn't be too worried.

Without more information, it would be hard to say. If they get sleepy once in a while like you've described, then it may be normal. Heat in the summer can also cause a bird to be sleepier. Poor Squeakers! Lethargy is a very general sign of illness, and because he is eating and drinking normally, I would keep an eye on him for now. He could be a little stressed from the vet visit yesterday even though he had the ace, and it might be showing with the lethargy. Should he still be lethargic in 24-48 hours, or he stops eating and drinking normally, then I would bring Squeakers back into the vet for a health check.

Monitor fecal production by a total cage clean-out. Sick birds often act like they're eating but aren't. A veterinary visit is recommended to assess and provide a diagnostic/treatment plan. Multiple possibilities include ingestion of foreign material (metal, fabric, wood, etc.), metabolic concerns (liver, renal), infections (viral, bacterial) and others. Good luck.
