My bird is not moving and eyes closed after bath. Is this serious?

Dehydration isn't usually solved by immersing something in water. It is possible Maverick was just asleep and dunking him in water startled him awake. If this has only happened once, I wouldn't be too worried and would just keep an eye on him. However, if he continues to act listless or shows other signs of illness, seeking veterinary care in person is best.

A veterinary visit is recommended to assess and provide a diagnostic/treatment plan. Providing heat support in the 80-85 F range can give comfort. I am very concerned based on what you were describing that your bird is very ill. I would recommend trying to hand feed her or syringe feed her a critical care supplement to try and get her appetite back where it needs to be. Unfortunately, without an examination by a veterinarian there are no over-the-counter remedies that I can recommend that I can be sure will be safe for your bird. Try to interact with her as much as possible and encourage her to eat. Also make sure she is in a warm dry room and see if that helps. If she still refusing to eat or drink after a few days it would be in her best interest to seek out a vet that can examine her. I’m sorry you are going through this with your bird. Best of luck. I highly recommend you have him evaluated by a veterinarian as soon as possible for further assessment and treatment. They would be able to check on what may be wrong so that therapy can be started as soon as possible. I am hoping for a speedy recovery!

If you believe that he could be injured in any way, I recommend having him evaluated by your nearest veterinarian. Bird's may hide their clinical signs, so subtle signs such as a wing droop or fluffed feathers may indicate underlying disease/injuries. Your veterinarian may recommend x-rays to evaluate for any orthopedic (boney) injuries, which may require the placement of a splint or bandage. If he continues to act normally (eating, drinking, passing normal feces/urates) and perching normally, he will likely be OK. I hope this is helpful!

Birds do have periods of rest throughout the day in between periods of activity that is normal behavior. However, If your bird is unmoving and seems very lethargic and this has been ongoing for several hours or the entire day/several days, it could be a sign of illness. As these symptoms are very vague, it is best to seek out veterinary care ASAP to help determine the cause and get her feeling better. Illness, infection, malnutrition, obstructions and more can all cause similar symptoms and should be checked out by a vet. Until you can get to the vet, moving her to a hospital cage that is separate from other birds, and kept warm and quiet with easy access to a balanced diet and water may help, however if symptoms continue or do not improve, seeking veterinary care is best.
