My goat has diarrhea. Could it be from chicken feed eaten yesterday?

Pet's info: Farm Animal | Goat | Male | neutered | 5 months and 2 days old | 25 lbs

My hot has diarrhea and wondering if it could be from the chicken feed he got into yesterday.

It certainly is possible if he ate a large amount. A sudden change in diet can sometimes lead to diarrhea. Keep him well hydrated and make sure he doesn't get into any more chicken feed. Offer his regular diet. You may want to keep him separate from other goats if you have more. If the diarrhea persists, consider submitting a stool sample to your veterinarian to diagnose intestinal parasites or bacterial overgrowth.

    Hello. How long ago did the goat get into the feed? If it has been a couple of days & he is improving, then he should be fine. Just make sure you lock up the feed where it cannot be reached again. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
