My goat's poop is clumpy. Is it a health issue? What should I do?

Hello, & thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. From your picture, the appearance of his rumen seems pretty normal. A healthy, well-fed goat can seem to be quite bloated. If he is acting normal, you have already done all the correct things. Limit his grazing on lush pastures, give him only a small handful of grain once you start him back, and get him off the alfalfa & on a good prairie grass hay. This & fresh water is all most goats will need. Take care.

Limiting the diet to high fiber hay could improve the condition, but a veterinary visit is recommended to assess and provide a diagnostic/treatment plan. Good luck.

It certainly is possible if he ate a large amount. A sudden change in diet can sometimes lead to diarrhea. Keep him well hydrated and make sure he doesn't get into any more chicken feed. Offer his regular diet. You may want to keep him separate from other goats if you have more. If the diarrhea persists, consider submitting a stool sample to your veterinarian to diagnose intestinal parasites or bacterial overgrowth.

This is a normal type of feces for rabbits to make and is normally consumed directly from the anus, which is why most owners do not see it. Most rabbits eat this feces based on their vitamin needs and it can vary day to day. I recommend feeding Stanley a diet of rabbit pellets, hay, and occasional fresh fruits and veggies. The new grass may have caused upset. Discontinue feeding it or restrict access to area where it grows in the pasture. Discontinue any grain temporarily and feed grass hay. Provide plenty of fresh water to treat or prevent dehydration. An electrolyte replacement beverage can also be considered. A veterinary probiotic may help to restore balance to bacterial populations in the gut. Submit a stool sample to your vet to diagnose intestinal parasites. Keep him separated from other goats in case he is infectious and clean his stall frequently. Wash your hands and boots well before and after tending to him. Monitor for lethargy, decreased or loss of appetite and persistent diarrhea. These are symptoms that should be addressed by your veterinarian or a vet experienced in treating ruminants.

He may have some minor GI upset. Discontinue feeding any fruits or vegetables temporarily. Feed only timothy hay or similar grasses. Offer as much as he wants. The high fiber may set his GI tract straight again. If not, have him examined by your veterinarian or a vet experienced in treating rabbits. Submit a stool sample to diagnose intestinal parasites. Rabbits will also produce softer stool at night which is normal. You may see them eating this "night stool" as part of their diet.

Your photo is a little blurry but from what I can see here these appear to be normal guinea pig feces. If your guinea pig starts having loose stools, stools that are very hard or is producing less feces or eating less these would be causes for concern.
