Why does my unspayed female rabbit attract other rabbits by smell?

She needs to be spayed to prevent uterine neoplasia anyways, so now would be a good time. If she continues to be aggressive to the dog and cat, something bad is bound to happen, so isolate her for now. Good luck.

Thanks for reaching out. Not all individuals get along, especially in confined areas. As young rabbits mature and hormone levels rise, territoriality and dominance are fought over to establish. The best methods to determine is she is intact of not are (1) take a radiograph as many of the sutures used are recognized; (2) an ultrasound to identify a uterus and ovaries; or (3) blood hormone levels. Observation for female nesting or aggression might lead to answer also. As per trying to bond with the other rabbits, there is no reason not to try, although not all rabbits get along whether spayed or not. Good luck.

It may be marking behavior considering he is intact. It could also be stress/excitement or simply being held too long and he has to relieve himself. Consider having him examined by your veterinarian or a vet experienced in treating rabbits to rule out medical causes. You can discuss neutering during the appointment. In the meantime, when holding him, place a towel on your lap and make sure he has ample opportunity to use the litterbox. Watch for a raised or twitching tail which usually indicates he is about to urinate or defecate.
