How to tell if my female rabbit is spayed without surgery or signs?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Small Animal | Rabbit | Female | unspayed | 3.5 lbs

My female rabbit is showing no signs of aggression or the typical "unspayed" behaviors, and a vet I recently took her to was unable to tell if she had be spayed previously (no scar). 2 questions: should I get her spayed asap? (And also is there a way to find out if she's spayed already without surgery). And if no, if I wanted to introduce her to an existing bonded pair of spayed sisters, should she be spayed? (Pictures of when found and relatively recently, hopefully the newspaper shows scale)

Thanks for reaching out about Fluffball and including photos. The best methods to determine is she is intact of not are (1) take a radiograph as many of the sutures used are recognized; (2) an ultrasound to identify a uterus and ovaries; or (3) blood hormone levels.
Observation for female nesting or aggression might lead to answer also.
As per trying to bond with the other rabbits, there is no reason not to try, although not all rabbits get along whether spayed or not.
Good luck.
