How to trim pet's wet fur near private area if they won't allow it?

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! The safest thing to use to clean it would be using a dry towel to dry the area carefully of course to avoid irritating the incision. I assume you mean that he had a PU surgery recently. You may then use a wet towel to get the urine smell off. I recommend that you check with your veterinarian to have the incision reevaluated as urine can irritate the incision and also he should not be urinating like that. Good luck and have a great day!

I would recommend cutting the hairs around her vulva to prevent continued contamination and bringing her to a vet with a fresh urine sample to rule out infection. The prepuce is very swollen. This is not normal. There is likely a serious problem going on and he needs to see a veterinarian for an exam. There are no home remedies that can be recommended without knowing the underlying cause of his condition. You can use warm water to wash the opening to the prepuce to see if you can "open" it and you can ice the rest of the prepuce to see if you can get the swelling to go down. That is the best I can tell you right now without more information.

I would suggest applying Zymox topical ointment or malacetic conditioning spray to the area to help relieve any irritation and prevent infection. If the area begins to ooze or become swollen / more red, I would have a veterinarian examine the area to see if oral antibiotic therapy is needed. If Ches has been licking or chewing the area, I would purchase a plastic cone to place around his neck so that he cannot access the irritated area as this will make things worse. I hope this helps! Infection and inflammation of the skin around the vulva in female rabbits can be fairly common. So far, you did the right thing by gently cleansing the area. Your veterinarian will likely need to clip and clean the area of inflammed skin and will probably prescribe some antibiotics and possibly a topical ointment to help the skin heal. The easiest way is to take him to a groomer and let them deal with it. They will have to put a muzzle on him so they don't get bitten but they are experienced at it and sometimes it is best to let them be the "bad guy" instead of you. If you want to try yourself, then you will need to get a muzzle or have a person that knows how to properly hold him so you don't get bitten and then try to work on that area yourself with some warm water and shampoo (like just bathing the hind end). If I were you, I'd let the groomer do it......way less stress for everyone involved!

This looks like local irritation or infection. You would need to have Belle physically examined by your veterinarian, though, for confirmation. In the meantime, keep the area clean and dry. You can use pet wipes or plain, unscented baby wipes to gently clean the area. Dry thoroughly afterwards. A small amount of plain cornstarch will work to keep the folds in her skin dry. An e-collar (cone) should be used to prevent further licking. This, along with cleaning, may be enough to allow healing, but if not then Belle will need to be seen by your vet. Monitor for lethargy, excessive urination, difficulty urinating or spread of the rash.
