My sugar glider has a pink thing sticking out. What should I do?

This could be an intestinal infection or foreign body can lead to straining and the prolapse. A veterinary visit is highly recommended, as soon as possible as even though seems to come and go, so could become more serious. Try cleaning the tissue with a mild soap. A cloth soaked in sugar solution, can sometimes be used to reduce tissue swelling. Good luck.

Castrating the male could reduce the testosterone-driven odor and scent-marking, but might not eliminate. Using cleansers could confuse your pets resulting in aggression. Castration is your best bet. Hello, its difficult to see from the picture which part is hanging out. It seems though, that the cloaca is prolapsed and needs to be replaced. This procedure typically requires sedation, lubricant and gentle digital reduction of the cloaca. In the interim, keep the tissue clean and moistened and have Pepper evaluated by a veterinarian as soon as possible.

It looks like the anus may be prolapsed or there is some sort of tumor growing near the anus. It would be best to bring Slick to a vet ASAP as these can easily become infected and cause worse problems. Until you can get to the vet, keeping Slick in a separate hospital cage if living with other birds, using an Elizabethan(cone) collar to stop him from picking at it (Google has tutorials on how to make bird-sized ones) gently cleaning the area, and keeping him warm is best.

A prolapse in a bearded dragon should be considered an emergency. Max needs to be examined by your veterinarian or an experienced herp vet. Severe prolapses may require surgical correction. The underlying cause (impaction, parasites, etc.) must also be diagnosed and treated to prevent recurrence. In the meantime, keep him on moist, clean paper towels. Make a paste with table sugar and water. apply it to the vent for 20-30 minutes. Rinse with sterile saline and apply a sterile lubricant until you can get Max to your vet.
