My sugar gliders are too hot! What's their maximum safe temperature?

Normal room temperature should range anywhere between 50 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Ferrets cannot tolerate temperatures above 85 degrees Fahrenheit so, if you had to choose, colder would be a bit better.

It would be a risk to introduce any small pets to kittens as it would be expected their natural instincts as a predator would encourage them to hunt. You would need to arrange separate areas where you could ensure the cats do not have access in order to ensure everyone's safety.

If you are able to sit in your apartment without distress, then your kitties if they are in good health should be able to tolerate it, but I would provide plenty of cool water and fans to help cool them, and if they show signs of distress such as excessive panting or lethargy/decreased appetite consider bringing them to a friend's house or boarding them somewhere with air conditioning. If they have any underlying health problems it may be more dangerous for them/possible for them to become overheated.

Most pets can tolerate temperatures that we ourselves can tolerate. As long as it is not greater than 90-95 degrees or lower than around 25-30 degrees, most pets will be ok. Great question! Generally over 26C is too hot for rabbits, but I know Australia gets very hot in the summer time! Much hotter than that. It would be best to keep Fluffy indoors where it is cooler for her. If you cannot do that, make sure her outdoor hutch provides plenty of shade for her, and continually give her fresh cool water. Watch for signs of overheating which include fast and shallow breathing, hot ears, and listlessness. If you see any of those signs, rush her into a vet immediately. Good luck, I hope this helps!

There should be a temperature gradient across the enclosure. Aim for a basking spot of 90F-95F, a warm side in the high 80s F and a cool side in the low 80s F. Nighttime temps can drop between 70F and 75F.

Sorry to hear about your sister sugar glider. Definitely, if he over-ate, he could have regurgitated afterwards. If lethargy, regurgitation or anorexia persists, a common factor between the two sugar gliders is a possibility. Possible ingestion of foreign material, toxins, etc. If you concerns continue, a veterinary examination is recommended, sooner than later. These small animals have little body reserves and need to eat daily to maintain their body temperatures and health.
