My rabbit ate something. Her stools are discolored. Should I worry?

The biggest concern would be that she ate something she shouldn’t have thatcan’t be digested. If so, she may have a blockage or get gastric stasis. Keep a close eye on Mistie over the next day or two. If she stops eating, drinking or pooping, or if she becomes more lethargic than normal you will need to take her to see a vet.

It would be more helpful if you could give some additional information. What do you think she may have or could have ingested? Is she eating and drinking and urinating normally? Hello. What you are seeing are porphyrin pigments in the urine. This is perfectly normal & may come & go. Make sure his pelleted diet is fresh & appropriate for rabbits. Rabbits absolutely need hay & grasses to live well & should be available to Snow all day long. You can feed other green leafy plants such as broccoli, cabbage, chard, parsley, celery leaves, watercress, kale, endive & carrot & beet tops. It's solid but very dark, this could be either due to something he ate or due to bleeding from the stomach. if this stays the same for another few days it would be a good idea to get it checked bu your vet.

I would take Hugs into a vet immediately. True diarrhea is uncommon in rabbits, and this watery stool may actually be softened cecotropes caused by an imbalance of gut flora. This can be caused by GI stasis, which in turn can be caused by stress, dehydration, pain from another condition (UTI, dental problems, infection), an intestinal blockage, or insufficient dietary fiber. GI stasis can result in a painful death of the animal if left untreated, and it's serious sign when a rabbit doesn't want to eat. You need to take Hugs into a vet now.

Normal rabbit urine often reflects their diet and comes in many colors of red-orange-yellow and is not of major concern unless there are obvious blood clots, discomfort when urinating or altered thirst/fever.
