My rabbit has a bloody scratch. What is it and does it need a vet?

Pet's info: Small Animal | Rabbit | Female | spayed | 11.02 lbs

On the edge of Bun Bun’s eat there is this little scratch with dried blood on it and I was just wondering what it was? And if it needed to be treated how much would it be in aus dollars?

Unfortunately without a picture, I cannot tell you what the scratch is. Also, I am not sure what body part an "eat" is.
In general, if the scratch is no longer bleeding, you can monitor it before taking Bun Bun into the veterinarian. You do need to monitor the area closely, however, for redness, swelling, discharge that is white, clear, or green in color, and pain. If any of these occur, a visit to your veterinarian is indicated as these can all be signs of infection. Infections often require treatment with antibiotics, and pain relieving medications. Please do not administer any antibiotics or pain medications that you have at home, as many of these can hurt rabbits due to their specialized gastrointestinal tracts (stomach and intestines).
I am unable to tell you specifics on costs for a veterinary visit, but I would recommend that you call the veterinarian's office and you can ask for their office call fee to get an estimate.

If it is just a superficial scratch and it appears that the bleeding already resolved, you may continue to monitor it. If at some point a discharge develops and it appears to be getting infected, have him examined then. You may clean the area with soapy water. Even though a picture of the wound itself would help to understand better the underlying cause, this presentation could be due to a trauma or localized spot of skin infection (likely to be caused by bacteria). An immediate check up, appropriate disinfection and possibly antibiotics (oral, topical or in a shampoo formulation) are needed to solve the problem. Disinfection may be started at home with very diluted hibiscrub or betadine or salted water baths. My rescued bunny's scratched, oozing eye: Will it heal or need a vet?

If your bunny has an eye ulcer and an actual puncture to her eye, that is unlikely to heal on it's own and she could lose the eye if it gets infected inside the eye or the eye perforates. She needs to see a vet to get some meds into the eye and probably oral meds as well. They can do a test to see how deep the scratch on the eye is to help get her better.

If the wound will not heal or grows larger, then she should be physically examined by your veterinarian. A fungal culture would be needed to diagnose ringworm infection. If you see her licking or chewing, use an e-collar. Keep her nails trimmed to prevent trauma from excessive scratching. You can clean the area with a diluted Betadine or chlorhexidine (Hibiclens) solution daily. Dry thoroughly afterwards.

It would probably be a good idea to have him examined but allow him to calm down first. Hopefully, the blood is just a result of mild trauma. The veterinarian will be able to determine the need for further diagnostics based on exam.

it sounds like he has an infection so he should be examined by a vet for treatment. Your vet can determine the severity of the injury to his eyes and prescribe medications to help. He may need an antibiotic and an anti-inflammatory to treat an infection.

My rabbits left blood. Is this normal? When should I see a vet?

I would look them over carefully for any signs of injury and bleeding in case they were fighting. If you can't find anything significant, make sure that neither one is urinating blood as bladder stones are common in rabbits and this is the most common sign of this problem. If you find any wounds that seem deep, or if you think someone is peeing blood, he or she needs to see vet at your earilest convenience. Hopefully it was just a fluke!
