What to do if my mouse isn't eating, drinking, or acting herself?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Small Animal | Unknown - Small Animal | Male | unneutered

My mouse hasn’t been eating or drinking for two days. The water bottle works and her secret stach is empty. I raised her from when she was an orphaned pinky. She bit me super hard for the first time today and she’s not acting herself.

If she will allow, check her teeth to see if they are overgrown or maloccluded. Either may result in a decrease or loss of appetite. Soak her pellets in warm water or a bit of fruit juice to stimulate her appetite and make eating easier.
If she still does not eat or continues her aberrant behavior, have her physically examined by your veterinarian to diagnose illness or injury.
