My mouse was accidentally hit. How to tell if she's hurt or okay?

I am sorry to hear that happened to Muffin. You must be very worried about her. Is she limping? If so she should be evaluated by a veterinarian. Is she eating, drinking, and acting normal? Keep him separated, warm and as stress free as possible. Minor wounds can be cleaned with Betadine or chlorhexidine. A triple antibiotic ointment can be applied once or twice daily. Make sure he continues to eat and drink. Keep his cage clean. If he does not heal, loses his appetite or becomes lethargic then have him examined by your veterinarian. Contact the local humane society for information regarding low cost or no cost clinics and charities to help defray costs. Friends or family members can also be asked to help out if necessary.

The main stay of treatment is to keep the wound clean and dry. Make sure the bedding is cleaned regularly. With rodents, I recommend a dust free bedding called Carefresh. Rodents are very sensitive to dust in the environment. Also make sure that you are feeding a balanced diet approved for rodents and supplementing with healthy fruits and vegetables. Especially the leafy greens. Most healthy animals will be able to heal wounds on their own. Watch it every day for redness, swelling or discharge. If your mouse begins to lick at it too much, you may need to create a small cone to keep her from doing that. This is not generally a problem however. Poor Hazel, I would keep an eye on her. If she is back to her normal self and hopping around fine, eating and passing droppings then I guess the trauma was minor and she has fully recovered. However, if she should show any abnormalities, I would definitely recommend to have her checked over.

Luckily, they usually are not much worse for the wear, as long as they don't hit anything on the way down. If Rosie is walking around and acting normally (eating and drinking, not limping or squeaking), she's probably fine. If anything changes, a vet visit is in order. There is a small chance if he hit his head and is bleeding internally. But if he is walking around, then he is likely going to be okay. He probably bit your brother because he is freaked out or hurting. I would leave him alone for a few days and just watch him to make sure he is eating and drinking. If he is not, then I would recommend to take him to your vet for an exam to make sure he doesn't need any medication.

You should take your kitty to a vet as soon as possible after the accident for an exam as she could have internal bleeding, a ruptured bladder and also broken bones. The fact that she is hiding and only walking slowly is a sign that she is in pain and got injured in the accident. What we perceive as a gentle bump is quite a hard hit for a cat.
