Hamster has a scab on its back, no pain. Should I see a vet?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

My hamster woke up today with a 1 inch scab on his back. There's no blood residue in his cage and he seems to be in no pain. I'm just concerned whether or not i should get it checked out or not.

It looks like roddy has a small scratch on the back. At this time I would recommend monitoring it from home. If you notice any discharge, smell or redness I would recommend taking him to a vet to have it examined. I hope that helps
