My new hamster ate a lot of a treat stick overnight. Will she be sick?

However, I would stick to no more than a few small pieces each day, and reserve the rest of her diet as hamster pellets (ideally with no extra nuts or seeds). Yes, you can give sunflower seeds. While there are not studies that I know of, you can give 10-15 per day. Do be careful though that Leah does not become heavy. Sunflower seeds are very tasty but also high in fat. You can also give small pieces of vegetables and fruit. Remember that all treats should be in moderation. I hope this helps.

A handful of rabbit food should not cause much a detrimental effect to your hamster. It is possible that you could see some minor gastrointestinal upset leading to some diarrhea, but as long as that does not continue in any extended way Baby Girl should be OK. Hudson likely would be just fine even if he ate some of the pickle. If he is walking, eating, drinking normally and not lethargic/tired there is nothing that you would need to do other than just offering him his regular food treats in the future! Good luck!

It's hard to tell, it depends how much she ate and how much she chewed it before she swallowed it, it could potentially cause her some severe gastrointestinal problems, you will need to watch for lack of appetite, lethargy and constipation in the next couple days.

I would cut back the amount of hamster food and treats you offer him. If you feed him fruit or fruit based treats, I would cut this back as well. Finally I would increase his exercise. You may try to get a ball and let him run around the house in the ball a few times per day. You can also give him a wheel if he doesn’t already have one. I hope this helps!
