My hamster ate duct tape. Should I be worried about her health?

Depending on the size of the piece of tape, there is cause for concern. A small section has a good chance of passing through uneventfully. A larger piece carries with it the risk of obstruction. Monitor Athena for the next few days. Hopefully, she will pass the tape without any problems. Daily soaks in a warm 50/50 solution of water and unflavored PediaLyte may help things move along faster. If she becomes lethargic, stops eating or doesn't defecate then have her examined by your veterinarian or a vet experienced in treating reptiles.

You need to put oil on the fur where the duct tape is attached, you can use mineral oil or Vaseline, if you don't have any olive oil will also do. then slowly and gently try to separate the duct tape. it may take some time and patience but it will come off eventually.

Tape should not cause a problem, and it should pass in time. To be safe, monitor him for vomiting, diarrhea, anorexia, and/or lethargy. If you see any of those signs, take him into the vet. Best of luck.

Hopefully Remi did not eat anything and the fact she is acting normally is a good sign, but if you would like to put your mind at rest, you could take her to the vet for an X-ray. Hi I think the part of washi tape roll should pass through, as it will soften with the acids in the stomach and mix with food, however it may cause an upset tummy. I would monitor your dog’s feaces and have him checked over if worried, vomiting or if uncomfortable.

It isn't toxic, but it could cause an obstruction. I would recommend taking Bo to the vet for evaluation now. If they suspect the tape is still in the stomach, then they may decide to induce vomiting to get it out of there. Small pieces of wood aren't a big concern, although they can sometimes cause constipation due to pain when trying to defecate them out.
