My two male guinea pigs are different sizes. Is this normal?

Thanks for your question about your guinea pigs, and congratulations on getting new members to your family. The photos are mildly blurry, but both of the pigs look like females. One thing you can do to confirm - the lighter colored guinea pig photo is more clear and is a female. The darker one is a bit harder to tell - if you compare them and they look the same then they are both females. If you are unsure, you can also post additional photos. I would recommend taking your new pets to the veterinarian for a wellness exam. They can provide you with husbandry and diet advice so that your new friends can stay happy and healthy. They are very cute! From the pictures, yes they do look healthy, but please keep in mind I can't say this for certain without seeing them in person. If you have concerns about their health, I recommend having them checked out by a vet. I hope this helps :-)

Thanks for reaching out. Not all animals get along. The biggest question is are they fighting or trying to establish hierarchy. Separate then for now and introduce them slowly in a neutral territory. Neutering them to lower testosterone might help. You should contact the store, to see if they can help also.

As long as she is a eating, drinking and acting normally I wouldn’t be too concerned. Also, make sure she is pooping daily and not becoming constipated. If she goes without pooping or her behavior changes, then I would have your vet take a look at her to make sure she isn’t constipated. I hope this helps!

These two bulging areas on the side are completely normal for guinea pigs, so it does not mean that she is overweight. as you mention, as there is another guinea pig with her, it's impossible to limit one and not the other, unless you separate them completely.

Hi and thank you for your question. In rodents the testicles can move freely from the abdomen to the scrotum (sac) and vise versa. It could just be that one is in and the other is outside the sac. However, it is imposible to say that from the pic. A vet should be able to tell you if it's normal or not after physically examining him. Regards
