My dwarf bunnies smell. How can I keep their enclosure fresh?

I have never heard anyone describe this type of smell before in reference to their rabbit's cage. The best I can tell you is to be sure to clean the cage frequently and be sure you are using an appropriate substrate. I would never use essential oils directly on your rabbit. Frankly, the best way to help with the odor is to keep your rabbit and his housing very clean by frequently changing litter and bedding. And never bathe a rabbit unless he has soiled himself and/or is very dirty. They usually groom enough to keep themselves clean. Rabbits are very delicate and sensitive which is why they are often used as a human analog in product testing.

You can use a "dry bath". Get some cornstarch for infants from the market or pharmacy. Sprinkle it on him and gently rub him down. Use a fine toothed comb to brush out the excess. To clean his feet, use plain unscented baby wipes, pet wipes or a bit of white vinegar on a wash cloth. Scrub gently to remove dirt and odors.

Check his back end for urine scalding or fecal matting/impaction. If the skin is bruised or reddened, have Oliver examined by your veterinarian or a vet experienced in treating rabbits to diagnose infection or injury.

It may be stressful at first if your rabbit is not used to the smell, but should get better over time. Spraying other chemicals such as essential oils etc is probably NOT a good idea as that may be irritating to your rabbit's (and ferret's) bodies and may cause more harm than just having the ferret odor. Great questions! Rabbits do have very sensitive noses and are sensitive to smells. In looking up cloves, I found that it as a essential oil is not safe for rabbits. That would include the smell as well, so I would avoid using cloves around Hestia. As for cleaning her cage, a vinegar and warm water solution is fine to use to clean her cage, just make sure it's completely dry before you put her back in the cage. I hope this helps!
