My rabbit smells! How to clean dirty rabbit feet without bathing?

Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Small Animal | Rabbit | Female | unspayed | 2 months and 15 days old | 2.5 lbs

I have a mini lop and I've noticed that his feet are really gross and dirty and he has been smelling lately, I searched up bathing rabbits but they said they'll get hypothermia . How do I get rid of the odor?

You can use a "dry bath". Get some cornstarch for infants from the market or pharmacy. Sprinkle it on him and gently rub him down. Use a fine toothed comb to brush out the excess.
To clean his feet, use plain unscented baby wipes, pet wipes or a bit of white vinegar on a wash cloth. Scrub gently to remove dirt and odors.
