Hello. There are just so many sites that can give you very good information on rabbit care. I would recommend a veterinary visit just to check your new friend over & make sure he/she is healthy, check the sex & make sure Licorice has been neutered. Rabbits need quite a bit of room to move around, a litter box that is cleaned daily, access to fresh water & good quality hay ( preferably Timothy ). Rabbit pellets should only make up 10-20% of her total diet, very limited fruits, but she should have daily access to fresh greens. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! While it isn’t an issue to have a male and female bunny, I would strongly recommend staying and neutering them prior to introducing them, especially if they are old enough to reproduce.

She is pretty small, but those ears are pretty big. I suspect she may be a mini lop. Look at lots of pictures of bunny breeds and see what she most resembles, but the pictures make me think she is a mini lop eared bunny. Thank you for using Pet Coach.

I recommend moving slowly with Bun Bun to let her realize that you are not a threat. You should start by petting her first between the ears and then gradually moving towards her neck and back. It may take some time for her to trust you enough to let you pick her up. Unfortunately, some rabbits never like being lifted, so you should be careful to support her back end to prevent her from hurting her back. I hope this helps!

Bunnies can get lots of leafy greens (kale, lettuce, bok choy, broccoli), and other treats like carrots, apples, banana, oranges, mandarins, grapes . 75% should be hay, 20% should be greens, and 5% should be treats. Yes, most pet stores have a small animal section with a variety of toys. Look for chew toys with safe woods such as willow, apple, birch, spruce and aspen. Soft toys and exercise wheels are also good options.
