My reptile's deep bite wound is healing. What should I do next?

I think it looks like it is healing OK. Neosporin is not the best topical antibiotic for snakes but the scab looks fine, it does not look red or swollen. I would just keep doing what you are doing. If it starts to look worse, swollen, he is not eating, etc then you should have him to a vet for an exam.

Clean the area daily with a solution of diluted Betadine or Chlorhexidine (Hibiclens). An ointment may trap bacteria under the skin and would not be recommended without the advice of your veterinarian or a vet experienced in treating reptiles. An exam would be recommended if the spot does not begin to heal with proper at home care. The vet may dispense a triple antibiotic ointment or a silver sulfadiazine cream after an exam.

I am sorry to hear about your dog! I would recommend bringing him in to his vet to examine the wound if it is not improving. It probably needs to be shaved and cleaned (I cannot see the actual wound in the photo so assume it is covered in fur and the wet area on the cheek). Often bites are puncture wounds and are deep and sometimes do require antibiotics to treat infection.

A veterinary visit is a necessity to assess and provide a diagnostic/treatment plan. Systemic antibiotics are needed, probably injections. After the wound is deemed clean, an acrylic patch needs to be placed to prevent future infections. Hydrogen peroxide is okay to use initially but will indiscriminately kills cells, including immune cells and new skin cells. Keep on clean paper towels or other substate to prevent further contamination. The environmental temperature should reach 90+F during the day to stimulate the immune system.
