My Yorkie is swallowing, shivering, and in pain. What to do?

If he is very weak and lethargic, I recommend seeking emergency veterinary care this evening. While there are numerous causes of vomiting in young dogs, pancreatitis is common in his breed. This is a potentially serious condition that causes inflammation of the pancreas resulting vomiting and diarrhea. It can leave a small dog dehydrated very quickly. It is difficult to say what is going on without seeing it in person or on a video. I would withhold food for at least 8 hours and then feed a bland diet of chicken and rice. Feed this at least 3 days beyond the resolution of the symptoms. I think this could be a serious problem. Puppies this age and this size can get very sick very easily. He really needs to see a vet. I would be worried that he may have parvovirus or distemper virus.

It sounds like Holly could be having some nausea since she is licking her lips and swallowing or possibly abdominal/back pain. If it continues than she should be examined by a vet to determine the cause. Your vet can do an examination, run lab work, and take x-rays, if needed, to help diagnose and then prescribe medications to help treat her problem. She may need some gastric protectants, antacids and/or pain medication. Hope she feels better soon.

It sounds like Cooper is painful. It could be a back spasm, a pulled muscle, or something more serious like a bulging disc. If you have any prescribed pain medications for Cooper, you can start that, and make sure he is resting, no running, no jumping, carrying him outside to go potty, etc. You can do gentle massage to help with muscle aches, and if you find a sore area you can use a heating pad on low.

Causes of vomiting are: intestinal parasites, viral infections (like parvo), foreign body ingestion (something is stuck and requires surgery to remove), pancreatitis, toxin ingestion, ingested something that is upsetting her stomach, food allergies or intolerance. If Charlie is vomiting while being fasted he should be seen today on Emergency. You can with hold water for 4-6 hours and food until monday am. Offer water after 4-6 hours as ice chips and as small amounts. If there is no further vomiting by the morning then offer a bland diet of boiled chicken or hamburger with rice. Feed 1 cup per 20 lbs per day. Feed as small frequent meals. If Charlie continues to vomit while fasted, after water or food is reintroduced or will not eat he needs to see a Vet. This does not sound like a breed-specific issue or a normal behavior. It sounds like Chopi is either drinking his water too quickly / too vigorously, or he is having trouble swallowing it for one reason or another. Depending on how often this is occurring, this might be something worth having checked out by you veterinarian. There are definitely structural issues in the mouth, esophagus, and upper respiratory tract that can result in difficulty swallowing. If it is a behavioral issue / OCD resulting in overly quick water consumption, there are device you can obtain that attempt to limit how quickly your dog laps up the liquid. You can also physically limit how much he drinks by simply moving the bowl away manually. I don't think this is something that you need to be running off to the vet about right away, but definitely something that is worth continuing to monitor for any worsening or changes. Hope this helps!
