My Yorkie is throwing up orange, weak, shaking, and head bobbling. What's wrong?

  Poor Skipper! The color of his vomit looks dark, and it could be due to his dog food that has been broken down in the stomach but not yet fully digested. If he eats his poop, which many dogs do, the color could also be due to that. Given that he has no other symptoms, I'm comfortable giving you a home remedy to try to see if that helps. Withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. If the vomiting continues in the absence of food, he vomits the bland diet, develops diarrhea, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, he will need to see a vet right away.   I am so sorry that your pet Monty is not feeling well. I am not sure what all testing was ran to determine what the underlying illness actually is. That would help with the suggestions for treatment. Every disease process is treated differently. However, for the most part you also want to treat for the pets symptoms.
  So I would recommend starting by having bloodwork done on him /- abdominal radiographs (if indicated). Also a urinalysis needs to be done to complete his overall health assessment. Once that is done and we know what we are dealing with, then we can recommend certain treatments for him to hopefully get him well again. Based on your description of his symptoms he could be suffering from a number of things including: kidney disease, pancreatitis, adrenal gland disease (i.e. Cushings dz), prostate disease, etc.
  If he is nauseous and/or still not eating well then I would recommend asking the vet to prescribe Cerenia tablets to go home, which is an anti-nausea medication. This works in conjunction with pepcid, but it much stronger for controlling any nauseous pet. Offering him small amounts of a bland diet such as boiled plain chicken and rice can also help provide some supportive care. However, I can't stress enough that we must know what his underlying condition actually is. Or at least rule out a lot of your major illnesses from the start.   Chronic vomiting at his age is worrying, it could be a sign of a serious condition such as cancer, pancreatitis or kidney failure. i strongly recommend taking him to your vet ASAP in order to get it checked and treated, he will need to have a blood test done.
