How do I stop my puppy from constantly chasing our cats indoors?

I would recommend keeping Jasper on-leash in the house for now, so that you can keep him from being able to chase the cats - as long as he is able to continue doing this, the problem will get worse since cat-chasing is a very self-rewarding behavior for most dogs :) Praise and reward him with treats for staying calm when the cats are around. The cats will also start to become braver around him once they realize he can't chase them, which means that they won't run as much - this will also help. Over time, once he's no longer trying to chase the cats when he sees them, you can begin giving him more off-leash time in the house.

Good morning. I hate to say this but, this type of behavior will be difficult to correct as long as the cat continues to run from Luna. If she didn't run it wouldn't be "fun" to chase her. The cat running away brings out the prey drive in dogs. My honest suggestion is that you get the help of a professional dog trainer. You need to have a trainer come to your house to assess the situation and then make training recommendations/modifications. This will give you the quickest resolution. Sadly, this is nearly impossible to train away. It's a situation where nature trumps nurture. If you want to try, I'd recommend working with her instead of sit, laydown, and watch me commands. Once she's amazing at them inside, take her to an indoor public place to get good there, then an outdoor place with no animals, and then out in to the general world. Once she's really really solid with those basic commands you can use them to try to get her attention before she sees the chicken or cat. In the mean time, don't let her practice this behavior (ie keep her on leash at all times and calmly but quickly remove her from the chickens or cats if she starts to go crazy). It is important for your cat to have a safe space to escape to; I typically recommend a baby gate at the base of a stairwell (if possible) to allow the cat to jump over to escape to an upstairs level when he needs to escape. It is something that may improve with time, or it may not. When Cash starts chasing the cat, I would recommend distracting him with a different game or toy to redirect his energy and focus his attention in a different direction. Hello! That's really quite sweet of Isabella, but I can see how this would be problematic to your cats. Frankly, there is no simple way to change her behavior other than intervening and telling her "no" when you see it. Issues like this usually require management by providing the cats with ways to escape, rather than expecting the dog to change. For now, I would recommend keeping Marge on-leash whenever the dogs are together - this way, you can prevent her from chasing him, and can also reward her for remaining calm when he is around. When you aren't able to do this, it would be best to keep them separated to prevent any problems. As Marge gets older, this problem should improves as she settles down a bit.
