How to stop my dog from jumping on the hood and roof of my car?

I would recommend a couple of things to help break this habit. First, when you walk in the house, completely ignore Chevy, turn your back to him, don’t look at him in the eye or even correct his behavior, because although it is negative attention, he still wants any type of attention he can get from you. I would also recommend getting a harness that has pressure points over the shoulders as these help prevent jumping up. Any time he jumps up on you lift your leg in the air so that his chest hits your knee. This will be uncomfortable for him and will discourage him from jumping. You should also start working with him on basic commands such as sit/stay/come. Once he has mastered these it should be easier to use commands when he is excitable. I hope this helps. I think the only way to prevent this from happening is to remove him to correct him when he jumps on something, and then distract him by having him perform a desired command (go to your place/mat/bed is a good one) for a treat. You will also probably need to restrict access when he is unsupervised by keeping him in another room or a crate. Some dogs are agile and he might never fall, but if you feel what he is doing is unsafe you can start some training. It may take awhile before he stops trying - be persistent and remember to encourage good behavior.

You can place a Scat Mat in front of the TV. It will give him a mild static shock when he steps on it which will teach him not to go near the TV so he can’t jump up on it. You can purchase one at PetCo. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to help you care for Wyatt.

I would recommend using a spray bottle filled with water and every time Woody barks, spray him in the face and say "off!". I would also recommend using a citronella collar, which can help deter Woody from barking. Jumping on people I would use the same technique with the spray bottle and even something loud such as an empty can filled with coins that you can shake loudly at Woody to stop the behavior. Hi and thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! Sorry to here that Loki is doing this. He is young and probably very active so addressing this is important. For one, never encourage him to jump up on you or family. Some people do this thinking it's cute but bigger dogs can hurt kids and elderly people. One thing that worked for me in the past for a variety of problems is an aluminum can filled with some coins and taped shut so the coins can't fly out. Keep the can handy and shake the can or throw it near the dog when an unwanted behavior occurs such as jumping up. The sound alone is enough for some dogs and it gets their attention. Lots of dogs are afraid of the sound and they immediately stop what they are doing. The trouble with it is having the can handy in your hand when you suspect bad behavior that you want to stop. I used to keep them near the front door to prevent the unwanted jumping up behavior. Worked great for me and you can verbally reward and use food rewards when they obey that intervention with the can. It's worth trying. Good luck with Loki.

These are rolling bars that are installed on the top of the wall and when Murphy encounters the roll bar, it rolls on him preventing him from catching his footing and going over the wall. You can also look at installing an invisible fence to prevent him from going near the wall around the yard. I hope this helps! Cats LOVE to jump up on things and get to higher areas. If you don't already have a "cat tree," I would highly recommend you invest in one if you are truly going to try to keep your cats off your furniture. Give her something she CAN be on; spray with catnip spray or sprinkle with catnip. Most of them include scratching posts as well, which you should have a few of throughout your home to prevent her from scratching your carpet or furniture. [Nature's Miracle Pet Block]() or similar product may curb the jumping. I am not certain its safe to use on wood, though. Another thing you can do to deter cats from jumping up onto surfaces is to place aluminum foil on them, they don't like the noise or feel when they jump onto foil. You can also try [Sticky Paws](https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/sticky-paws-on-a-roll-for-cats) which are double sided sticky sheets--they don't like the feel of these either.
