I've just noticed one of my Shih Tzu eyes is red, the other is fine. What could this be?

Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach! If only one eye is red she may have a scratch or infection in that eye. I recommend taking her to a vet for an exam. They will likely need to stain the eye to look for a scratch which can be difficult to see with the naked eye alone. They can then prescribe the correct medication to relieve the redness. Good luck and kisses to Bleu!

This could easily be allergies +/- an infection. These dogs are prone to allergies and that can develop into skin or eye infections. I would recommend bringing him to a vet as soon as your vet can get you an appointment. Thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach and Congratulations!
