Updated on September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Medium (23 - 60lb) | Male | neutered | 11 years old | 25 lbs

My dog is a jack Russell terrier mixed (11years old) and today he didn't want to eat and he acts like one of his back legs are in pain and when we pick him up he squeals. The other day is was more active but acted as if his back leg is in pain.

If Ranger is in pain, and the lameness doesn't resolve after a day or so, it's time to take him in for an exam. Your vet may want to do X-rays of the painful limb and put him on pain medication. Hopefully it's something simple and Ranger feels better soon!
